The Blooming Bird Wonderland Table Runner runs the garden down the middle of the table — coral and scarlet birds settled into deep foliage of green, blue and gold, with small white flowers scattered between them, all on a richly dark ground. Against a bare wood table the contrast is the whole trick.
Printed on smooth polyester, which is the deliberate choice: the colour comes out saturated and stays that way, it takes a spilled glass better than a natural fibre would, and it goes back on the table without ironing.
