For the Season

The Halloween Table

October dinners deserve their own linens. Three runners set the stage — a parade of retro ghosts, a gothic cemetery in full bloom, and one big friendly BOO — with napkins, placemats, mugs, candles, and wrapping paper to keep the whole haunt coordinated.

our signature design

Blooming Bird Wonderland

Coral blooms and scarlet songbirds on a deep garden ground — loose, joyful, and unafraid of color, the way a June garden actually feels. If Bliss Road has a signature look, this is it.

Today it lives on outdoor pillows, totes, beach towels, a sherpa blanket, and candles — with more of the family on the way.

The Bliss Road worktable — pattern proofs and fabric swatches in morning light

Joy, by design.

Bliss Road Studios is a two-person studio in Sacramento, California. Ray and I design every pattern together — hydrangeas and lemon branches, bluebirds and chintz roses — and turn them into everyday things made to be used, washed, leaned on, and loved.

The studio began at my dining room table during a hard season, when making beautiful things was the hour of the day that belonged entirely to joy. It still is.
